A Rare Find in Miami: Il Gabbiano

This jewel of an Italian restaurant served up one of the best meals we've had in Miami. Even though it's been pegged as one of the Top Five most expensive Italian restaurants in Miami this is a destination restaurant that is worth the expense.
This is the palace of Luigi Tullio and brothers Gino and Fernando Masci, who came to Miami with culinary gems learned growing up in Abruzzi, Italy (with a 26-year stopover as owners of Greenwich Village's renowned Il Mulino).
Service - impeccable! Food - sublime. Atmosphere - amazing. Try for a table on the outdoor patio with views of the Miami River. We appreciated being served upon seating fresh marinated tomatoes that can be placed on the toasted bread as a bruschetta. The white fish asked in salt ($75) to share is a signature dish that's to die for. Also the octopus carpaccio. We also recommend the ravioli with truffle. You will find classic Italian dishes such as veal scaloppine al Marsala ($27.75) and risotto alla Milanese ($36.75).
A very good wine list by the glass or bottle. Cap off the evening with a homemade limoncello! We could go on! But this is a winner. Highly recommended!
