A Visit to the Four Seasons Taste Truck in San Francisco
After following the Four Seasons Taste Truck for several days, as it made its journey through the US West Coast, we were thrilled to finally encounter this five star restaurant on wheels in the Bay Area.
The highlight for us was the stop at the Four Seasons San Francisco, where signature dishes from MKT Restaurant were featured. Tickling our taste buds were dishes presented by its affable executive chef, Mark Richardson - starting with Corn Crusted Halibut. This was followed by delectable Beef Short Rib Tacos, Crab Louis, Duck Fat Beef Burger and Hand Cut Garlic Fries.
We would have been satisfied with just the Duck Fat Burger, a large beef pattie from 5 Dot Ranch, which was enhanced with truffle aioli, bacon and a fried egg - what richness. And Chef Richardson had us locked in a culinary embrace right off the bat with the Corn Crusted Halibut.
Richardson said all the dishes were off the MKT menu but at the fraction of the price. We noticed that even before the truck opened for business on Friday morning a line-up was already forming.
On Saturday the truck will be making stops at key San Francisco landmarks and fans can follow its journey on Twitter via the hashtag #FSTasteTruck. Afterwards it winds its way southwest towards Santa Barbara, and onwards to the LA area.
Richardson said his team was handling the small confines of the truck well and that it is a great way to bring the menu to foodies who otherwise may not have heard of the retro urban chic restaurant at the Four Seasons San Francisco.
