Airline hygiene kits

This hygiene kit given to Turkish Airlines passengers is one of the best we’ve seen in the industry. With plenty of masks - including a heavy duty one - and wipes and hand sanitizer you’re always prepared.

This is in stark contrast to other airlines, where we’ve seen bottles of water and pretzels stuffed into a bag with hand wipes, flimsy masks and hand sanitizer.

Another aspect which sets Turkish Airlines apart is how cabin crew religiously remind passengers of proper mask-wearing. This was especially appreciated on a recent Kyiv to Istanbul flight, where several passengers needed to be reminded of proper mask-wearing.

Then there’s the friendly and professional service. I’m announcements, cabin crew remind passengers that despite the mask coverings, they’re still smiling and serving from the heart.

In other Covid-19 safety protocols, Turkish follows industry standards with rigorous cleaning of aircraft in between flights, use of HEPA filters and encouraging social distancing during boarding and de-planing.

In Business Class the a la carte trollies are gone for now, however appetizers and main courses are served separately and with hygienic coverings.
